Dudu Tassa is one of Israel's best-known rock musicians. He is a singer, guitarist and composer. His concerts are sold out weeks in advance. His band Dudu Tassa & The Kuwaitis was born out of research into the amazing musical history of his Iraqi Jewish family and is a tribute to his grandfather and great uncle. Known as the Al-Kuwaiti brothers, the composers and musicians were famous in Baghdad in the first half of the 20th century, considered innovators and creators of new modern Iraqi music. Dudu Tassa & The Kuwaitis reinterpret this music and integrate qanun and cello into Dudu Tassa's rock band, creating a new distinctive sound. With their third album "El Hajar", released in January 2019, they stayed several months in the Top 10 of the WMCE, World Music Charts Europe.
