Jarreau Vandal (Soulection/NL)
Young Franco (Universal / Kitsune/AU)
There is currently no way around producer, musician and DJ Jarreau Vandal. At the age of sixteen, Jarreau started producing music and quickly became a resident of the Amsterdam club night "Wavefiles". IAMNOBODI then put him in touch with the Soulection label, where he released his first EP "the Jarreau Vandal white label".
Soulection stands exemplary for a young school of producers that takes the entire spectrum of soul, funk, hip-hop, electronica and beats to ever new heights with the improvisational freedom of jazz. In keeping with this attitude, Jarreau takes the liberty of foregoing sampling as much as possible in favor of using live musicians and his own voice, creating much more personal soundscapes than many others. Jarreau does not bind himself to genres, his sound can go in any direction and always remains unmistakable.
Young Franco also goes his own way. The Sydney-based producer has a sensational feel for global electronic pop hits. At the same time, he never forgets what matters: Not just playing the big festivals, but touring the clubs and appearing on the most focused radio stations, such as BBC Radio 1, 1xtra and Beats1.
Franco's single "About This Thing" is a prime example of his productions: An energetic blend of house, grime and his signature drum beats that beautifully builds groove and flow with support from British vocalist Scrufizzer.
